    Hello everyone.

Frequent visitor, new member. Resident of Houston TX. Planning to visit the islands next year. One quick question guys: Are US citizens required by the US government to come back to the states every year?

Thanks. Hope everyone is having a blessed weekend.

No. Even if it was a requirement I would not be going.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I lived the 1st part of my life in PI, 2nd part in Texas. Hoping the 3rd part and last parts back in PI. Who amongst you can let me know estimate of annual expenses(family of 5) to live very comfortably in the PI?

Manzanita: I live in the northern part of I45, towards Spring.

Have a good day/or night everyone!

Welcome Robo, I haven't been back in 4 years, no need. The one exception might be if significant medical care was required and I had to use medicare to cover the cost. Even then, I doubt I could leave my wife and child.

Thanks for the response. I am not retired. I and my wife are both working in Houston TX. I have no property in the PI but I do have a fully paid off home in Texas which when sold, will be able to purchase a house there. I also have funds to take care of schooling for my children. My plan is to move there within the next 5 years. What I would like to find out is if my savings would be enough to live there comfortably.

My actual question is how much money do I need per year to cover living costs, utilities, taxes, homeowners insurance, health insurance, car insurance, food etc. No need to count housing, car purchase or school. By the time I move there, the kids would be 10, 12 and 17 years old.

I hope I didn't confuse you this time.
