:( Very sad news, As I was reading the news on Pats thread about Bin-laden, I was saddened to read that, Sir Henry Cooper has died, a Great boxing Ambassador, never a real Boxing Fan but an ardent follower of "Our Enry & Ali " GRHS.

Very sorry to hear of the death of Our 'Enery. As a referee for 30 years, I met him countless times at tournaments and boxing dinners. He was ever the gentleman, and always ready to find the time to give advice and encouragement. He was a boxer not a scrapper, and one of the few men to put Ali down with his famous 'Eneries 'Ammer.

Saddened also, 76 years young, not old by any means.

Sir Henry Cooper, great boxer and ambassador.

"I was not aware he was ill. I visited with him two summers ago during a brief visit to Windsor as part of the Equestrian Games being held there. He was in good humour and looked quite fit.

"Henry always had a smile for me; a warm and embracing smile. It was always a pleasure being in Henry's company. I will miss my ole friend. He was a great fighter and a gentleman."

    Nice to Hear!

 Nice and Refreshing, to hear that some of our Members here, had actually met and spoken to this Great Man. He will be Sadly Missed, I am sure, by all that followed his Career.

believe me I do the same thing all the time, I really didn't want to defect any attention away from broadside, I am really curious about what he had to contribute, sure sounds like a guy to have a few beers with...so your currently in Spain Jack? that sounds nice I am in the States at the moment

    France Tomorrow!

Yes tonight Bounty, I am off to Perpignan in France tomorrow Afternoon, I was due back home later this month but I have had to extend a while. Spain is not a good Place this week, Weather and other things, Election Time and with the latest news, it has more than it's fair share of problems. Gibraltar, where I was based is only 9 miles from Morocco, Don't think I need say more! I am sure if you PM Broadside he would be more that willing to give you some LOW DOWN on his 30 years presiding of the Gentle Art.
