MANILA, Philippines – An $80,000 motorcycle stolen in Texas last year from Hollywood screenwriter Skip Woods has been recovered in the southern Philippines, officials said Thursday.

The custom-made chopper was found Tuesday by police in Cagayan de Oro city, said Jose Justo Yap, regional director for the National Bureau of Investigation.

Woods, a collector of custom-made vehicles, wrote the screenplay for "Swordfish," "Hitman" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

His chopper was among 14 motorcycles, three all-terrain vehicles, two SUVs, a sports car, a shotgun and ammunition for assault rifles recovered by police in raids in Cagayan de Oro and nearby Bukidnon province, Misamis Oriental provincial police Chief Graciano Mijares said.

The U.S. FBI sought assistance in the recovery of Woods' motorcycle, Yap said.

An American private investigator representing Woods said the screenwriter was surprised that his motorcycle, which was stolen from the parking lot of his condominium in Houston, Texas, ended up half way around the world.

Woods was "really congratulatory. He is more than pleased," said the investigator, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the probe is ongoing.

Police are looking for a Filipino who was selling the motorcycle online, Mijares said.

Yap said the man faces illegal firearms possession and smuggling charges.

    ha ha about 6!

Probably about 6, normal boxes by the size of it. I was merely adding some light humour, to an OP's Suggestion, the Boxes were under Scrutiny, by the HSS, this I Think, you Questioned.

I was kidding you, the reason for the smiley face thingy though it got up in the corner by mistake...You know I was thinking some more about that other thread, the importing a bike. The thing is you are required to declare what's in the box so I do not see the point of inserting a title for them to find, they should know its a motorcycle already and if you haven't declared it then leaving a piece of paper in the box isn't going to help your case since at that point your smuggling. Now if you are breaking it into pieces and declaring them as "parts" it seems to me at some point a VIN number still would have to come into play in order for them to make sure they didn't come from a stolen bike. In any event I do not know how one should handle something like that but I would suggest if one wants to try it that they contact the proper authorities first...:D there got the little smiley in its proper position :D

    Well Done!

 Bounty it's OK, :D:D:D this is the problem with double threading, when one thing leads to another!

@ KDF, Sorry did not mean to overtake you, it was just that it seemed prevalent to both threads, my apologies.

Any idea, JUST how they got this Bike to the PI? I guess Bounty and I, would be interested to find Out! :D

True, but for $80K, you are not buying a motorcycle, you are buying a one off statement.
