    Hi Guy's,

We have a problem with Algae in the water tank in the garden.

It seems to have started since it has got warmer.

Can anyone tell me what to use to solve this problem as i think it must be common.

    Cheers Guy's Di:smile:

Is it for drinking water? Ornamental? For fish?

    Algae needs:
    Sunlight
    Phosphates
    Nitrates

Eliminate these and you will not have algae

I use it for boiling for drinks, and the pets drinking water.

Then treating the water with chemicals is out of the question!

I would start with making sure it is clean, as a layer of dust can give the algae a start. 2nd try and shade it as best you can. Is the source city water or well water?

It is a combination of rain water ( a system my landlord has set up ) and Gov water i know what you are saying with the chemicals but without it i know it will be a lot of hard work now it's got a hold. So i will probably start using bottle water for pets and boiling.Cheers Di:smile:
