Does anyone know the cost of exit permits and procedures for a US tourist with a up to date visa ? I have searched the threads but did not see anything about exit permit cost for people with up to date visas.

    Thanks,

    BigJim

Not sure what permit you mean, but if you mean the ECC clearance, this is paid with your 2nd visa extension.

For getting the actual paper, you need to apply at the BoI, bring three passport pictures 2x2, some copy and fax work. After you faxed it to Manila it takes up to 2 weeks for approval.

The ECC is valid one month.
The only costs you have are 500 "Express fee" , the fax, copies and pictures.

The ECC can be done in Cebu or Manila in one go and you save the fax.

If you stay here longer than 1 year you need to pay 1,620 travel-tax at the airport. This is additional to your airport fee.(750 MNL, 600 Cebu or Clark)

    hope thats what you mean

    cheers

For my ECC I paid the 500 at the Dumaguete BOI and had the paper in about 10 minutes. I gave them 2 of the 2x2 sized photos along with 500P and that was it...

They told me I could get the ECC up to 7 days before departure.

there might be a difference with the ECC depending on how long you stood in the country. (in my case almost 2 years)
I did mine in April and it was a 10 Minute thing, but I needed fax some copies to Manila and pick up the Clearance a week later.

You can make the ECC even the day of your departure if you are in Cebu or Manila, but it is not recommended. Some people want "extra motivation" when they see you are under pressure to get the ECC "now na".

However, a painless process at the BoI in Dumaguete when applying a month before departure.

They wouldn't even let me apply until it's 7 days before departure. Told letter only valid for 7 days.

interesting ... I have a copy of the ECC here which says valid until 20.May, issued 21. April.

however, I will be back in Dumaguete this coming week, and clarify the exact steps, costs and procedures, and if there is any difference in nationalists and length of stay.

    cheers

Good point! That is just one of the many reasons to arrive at the airport 2.5 - 3 hours early for an international flight.

    Ah! Ah!

 Snowman, How long before you went, Did you pay? Did you have a prior Clearance? You say at the last Minuete, does this mean just to pay or decide you were going? This time limit on Clearance letter gets Confusing.:o
