    Hi

there is no doubt that Dumaguetenos are friendly people coz they greet me anywhere we go, and it was so cool and fun! im just curious why everytime we go out with a foreign friend ( im from north) and we dine out to these resto's, why am i not entitled to a menu book so i can choose what i want? if it only happened once, i would understand, but it happened twice already:o. does that tell me that im not entitled to have to look at any menu books and im not allowed to choose what i want to? (just a thought) im not offended though (a little bit):o but it made me think that maybe i look like a "maid" to those crew when im with my friends?? this maybe funny, and i think it is funny too, but i may have to worry more next time on how i look when going out with them LOL (just sharing my thoughts)

have a nice day everyone!! ^_^

Wow, that's strange the same thing happens to me, when I'm out with the wife's family.
(by the way I'm English!) and paying the bill.

thanks for the response john boy.. so i guess they really tend to forget important people around, or they just dont have enough menu books? but i doubt that they dont have enough menu books for 3 persons?? i think its really weird..

remember years ago when I first arrived in the PI taking a few Pinoy fellows out to drink at a very small provincial establishment in Oslob and when we were brought the beer the fellow only supplied a single glass for all of us. I asked for glasses all around and he got very uncomfortable, my friends had to explain to me it was the only glass he had. lol

I really doubt the staff was intentionally slighting you...most likely they just weren't paying attention which is common in most of the restaurants. (Next time watch to see if their attention immediately turns to their cellphone/text messages when they leave the table.)

I too doubt it was intentional..... I have found that service people put very little thought into their work.... if the boss says take care of the guy with the money....that is what they do..... If the boss says nothing they go through the motions without thinking

EXAMPLE....In America a waiter will usually bring you change with one of the larger bills broken down into change even if the amount owed is in whole dollars.....the idea being you will probably not leave a whole dollar tip.....but you might drop 50 cents.... here they ONLY think of one thing.... is the change correct ..... many times I wanted to tip but had no change and I certainly was not going to tip more than the cost of the meal

They take village girls and boys.....give them very little training.... pay them miserably....
fire them every six months so they wont become permanent employees and expect minimum wage and SS..... these kids have little more on their minds than how to stay out of trouble and keep their job long enough to find a sugar daddy

You've been out of the US too long. Now they bring you a lot of dollar bills even if something larger would have been sufficient. - That's after they ask, " Do you want your change?" when they pick up your payment.
