Gordo's Pizza in Daro is quite good and very reasonably priced (in my opinion). You may eat in, take away or get free delivery (and you may place your order by texting). They have quite a variety, and the largest pizza they have is huge -- 36"!!

Located on the highway, heading towards the airport - Gordo's is the next block after Mercury Drug on the same (lefthand) side.

I lived in the UK for 5 years and I can assure you that Nigel's Fish & Chips is the BEST I ever had as well. No mashed peas, no newpaper wrapping, no cod, just great fish and chips with a nice salad on the side. Yum!

    Missing Out.

:D'You Know Relayer, that is one thing that I have missed over the years, going Home from the Cinema say, Slightly chilly night, rain drizzling down lightly, Passing a "Chippy" Cod & Chips twice would be the Order, salt and Vinegar, the server would say, OH yes" please, There was nothing, quite like walking home, eating Fish & Chips from a newspaper wrapping, Great British Tradition. Oh well that's life.
I have never tried this eatery (Nigels) but it sounds as if a trip, will be would be well worth it. Eat and Enjoy, A fantastic meal I do miss!

When I was living in England we would leave the disco's and there were no chip shops open but there would always be a Gyro's shop open late night. Man. that's almost as good as going to an IHOP after a night out!

Ahhh what was this thread about??
    Pizza?
    Sorry for the hijacking!

    Touche!

:o This is where the Age gap comes in my friend, in my days in the UK there, were no Discos. Cinema during the week, maybe town hall for a dance on Friday or Saturday, every thing was shutting by 10.30/11.00. F&C shops would normal gauge closing times and cater for the last few. AH! Happy Days.

We were in the mall today, and looking for a light lunch. I remembered reading this thread (minus the BOULEVARD location) and we popped into Shakeys. We had eaten there before, about 3 months ago.

When we were there 3 months ago, the pizza was delicious. The service was excellent, the draft beer cold. The manager came out ofter our meal and asked if everything was all right. It was. Although P700 for lunch is a bit out of our normal price range for lunch, oh well, it was enjoyable.

Until several hours later, when Rony got sick. Diarrhea and vomiting lasted for nearly 24 hours. Now Rony has a pretty iron gut, and can eat most anything I can, and a lot that I can't. Knowing there could be numerous things that could have triggered this, we were not in a hurry to go back. But, go back we did.

This time, the service was good (not quite as good as before), the pizza was soso, and once again, Rony is sick. Diarrhea and vomiting since 4 pm.

I don't think we will be giving this place a third chance.

    Larry
