    Hi,
Have been offered a couple of very nice, new Sprint phones at a very nice price. Wondering if I buy unlock codes from Ebay, can we then place our Globe prepaid sims in these and use them? Or would it be best to get them unlocked when we get back to Dumaguete? Anyone with any previous experience with Sprint phones?
    Thanks!!

check if those Sprint phones can support a GSM network, if not then they won't work in the PH

    Thanks!! Another dumb question....

Thanks!! Okay, I am not to "up" on phone specs these days, but the Blackberry says very clearly on the box that it is GSM, the Zio android says "3G"...does this refer to being GSM compatible?
    Thanks again!!

    Provinces!

 Seems any where is a little suspect. I think this depends on the Phone Bounty. The better the phone the better the conversion to local Sims. Me! I brought a Good Old NOCIA from the UK works 100% ( Globe & Smart)

    3g=gsm??

One of these phones states GSM, the other one doesn't mention GSM, but is 3G...does that mean it will work on GSM networks and will work in the PI?
    Thanks!!

unlocking a phone here is 200P at any cell phone shop. No issues at all.

I've had probably a dozen unlocked and used over the years. Just be sure it's a triband phone.

    tri band?

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for the info!! I am still having problems determining if this is a GSM or tri band phone. It doesn't say....not specifically anyway. Maybe you can help me. It says it "works within the Sprint CDMA frequency band of 800MHz/1.9 GHz. It will not work on any IDEN network." It is also 3G.
    Thanks!!

A friend of mine once told me not to get a sprint phone because it will not work on any other network. Just passing on what I was told.

AT&T and Verizon phones will work here.

"Normal" Sprint phones don't have a SIM slot. they are not GMS and will never work here. Sprint does sell some phones for international usage, but buying them and try to sell them here, you need to wake up early and find people who are still sleepy....

than again, each morning a fool wakes up.....
