You nailed it! The hold time for a check, even from one Philippine bank to another Philippine bank is ridiculous!

 

I think all banks are the same when it comes to clearing because they say that transactions are already done online so that means for local checks, 3 days clearing and a week or so for regional. I'm not sure about US-drawn dollar checks--it probably depends where and in which state the bank is located.

More details on the PayPal #'s please. Where to find? What/who to ask? (i've attempted to contact PayPal... never could get a human on the phone just 'punch 1 punch 2 till i was verging on postal)

Has anyone used Xoom to transfer funds to a bank in the RP? My Asawa sent some to her Mom months ago for her B'Day. She used Xoom and deposited directly into her Mom's bank account.

Paypal On Line?

I have a Pay Pal account on Line, I have it to top up my Skype. Just Punch in Pay Pal to your prefered search Engine and set up an account. I have never used it to send money home but the facility is there.
