I mean, come on, why should these elite, highly trained, professional sportsmen have to put up with such constantly poor decisions?

It really spoils the whole sport for me.

Yes, and well rehearsed. As are the cameramen and switching of the angles...

Some years back the WWF was sued and had to change their name to WWE. The "E" emphasizes Entertainment as it's not meant to be a sport, bot more "entertainment" than anything.

While intensely surfing for referee qualifications, I somehow stumbled on the definition of "manzanita"

Manzanita is the Spanish diminutive of manzana (apple). A literal translation then would be little apple.

Hey, thanks, didn't know that. Manzanita here on Negros is a common type of tree with delicious red berries.

For a short time in my youth I wrestled professionally.... I was not a headliner but I got paid.... more of a journeyman..... While the professional wrestler is VERY capable and usually in excellent physical condition.... wrestling is not really a "sport"..... it is a performance.... often a rehearsed performance

Why do you think there is no Las Vegas book on wrestling matches?.....

As to the performance of the referees.... they do what they are told.... you never noticed how they are always looking the wrong way when the bad guy does his dirty work..... he only sees what they want him to see.....or stop

Now they use fake blood..... but in my day they would cut the scalp with a razor .... when they wanted to spice up the show they would pull the razor cut until it bled.... when the resin got in the cut it would sting and often leave a scar....old time wrestlers had lots of scars on their foreheads
