No, not Rhoody, Dirk Nowitzki led the Dallas Mavericks to an upset win over the Miami Heat for the basketball World Championship!

I thought you were referring to the muscled foreigner wearing only shorts covered in tattoos walking to blvd before noon looking like he was ready to take on all comers..

Can't even remember when I did that much sport like today, up at 0.30 am to watch formula 1 and all through to Dirk's and the Mav's glorious victory just before lunchtime. Well deserved. Not his best game today but he made them in, to take the last wind out of the Heat sails in the last 2 minutes.I am pretty happy about that.

I met Dirk and his personal coach Holger Geschwindner weekly after my own teams trainings-sessions. Dirk got discovered by Holger (a former german national-player) when he was 13. At that time Dirk was playing tennis and just started basketball after Holger convinced Dirk's parents that basketball might be more appropriate for Dirk.
Even today Dirk comes in his NBA - break home to Wuerzburg for a couple of weeks and keeps in shape in a tiny town called Rattelsdorf/Breitenguessbach.

I heard that most of the PI were rooting for the Heat because of the coach, Spoelestra is a Fil-Am. Anyhow, it was nice to see the MAvs win, they earned it.

On tv, they had a feature about Dirk and his personal trainer, which looks like a father / son relationship. His training methods are a bit unorthodox, but obviously they worked.
