Tentatively, contingent on interest, we are considering putting on a "Taco Salad Sunday" at Mike's Beach Resort, Dauin. The date we are looking at is Sunday, June 19. A Taco Salad is a bowl shaped spicy tortilla layered inside with salad, taco meat, cheese, salad, salsa, chili, cheese, salad, salsa, beans, etc...

    Anyone interested?

The Mex I have tried to eat here has been very disappointing. I am shellshocked by Moons and Cocos. I would love to cleanse my palete with some real Mex but I am gunshy. Will this make me stop wishing for Taco Bell??? Please say YES!

Guaranteed to quash your Taco Bell fever for at least 12 hours! Did I mention Jalapenos?

Mike has always had the best Mexican food in Duma. Kinda helps that He's from So. Cal. I used to always eat at His Place ( The Dive Shop ) when it was located on the BLVD. As far as I know He still serves the nachos, tacos and Burritos at His Resort and His tortilla chips were home made and very good. Sounds to Me like You're kicking it up another notch Larry.. Will these taco salads include Your Salsa? Sounds Yummy. Too bad I can't be there this time.. BTW, got some fresh habaneros in My Fridge here.. Too bad I'm in So Cal right now.. Cheers..

As with the rest of his Mexican food, it will include our salsa. As with the chips, we will be teaching them the art of making the taco salad tortilla bowls, so possibly this will become a permanent addition to the regular menu.

If you book early and find a good cab driver in Manila, you fly in, get to one of the 2 Taco Bells in the Mall at Arneta in QC and be back for dinner.

The alternative would surely be a trip to Mike's because he does make some good Mexican food.

I lived in New Mexico and Arizona and got to eat a lot of great Mexican food. One trip to a Taco Bell was enough. Taco Bell relates to Mexican food as much as Jolly Bee relates to hamburgers.

I hope to be able to get to Mike's on the 19th. I'll let you know for sure later in the week.

I loved the "flying saucers" we ate when I was in Tuscon years ago. I miss Albertos / Adelberto's mexican restaurants in California. Next trip back, my first stop will be Adelbertos, Then In-N-Out, then Carl's Jr. Man, I am getting hungry!
