Has anybody here ever tried their hand at fresh water shrimp or prawn farming. I want to start this as an extension to an ongoing fish farm and any advice would be welcome. I have picked up a lot of info "on-line" but first hand experience of here in Philippines would be welcome. Also where can I purchase seedlings here in Philippines does anyone know.
    Thanks

There is a prawn farming here in Negros and they ship their prawns to Manila. The company is commonly called in that area as "AYALA" at Sumariling, Siaton Negros Oriental. I dont know if they sale seedlings. From time to time they sell their excess or reject prawns in the area, it's still a good class...yummy prawns.

I had a huge Igloo cooler full of the worlds finest Louisiana crayfish. Seeder sized.

Made it all the way to Manila, my B.I.L was waiting at the airport, soon as customs man opened it and stuck his fool hand in there, he got pinched good. That was the end of the line. Confiscated and left em to die and rot in the holding room.

    Sorry S. O. B.'s

In Bacong there is a seedlingfarm just South of Buntis (Noble factory) between the hiighway and the sea.
The place is well known for brakish groundwater wich is perfect for growing prawn seedlings.

There's a prawn farm in Bulak, just before Dauin. If you follow the highway, till you get to where the road heads off to Amontilado resort, (there's a new petrol station being built there) then turn left, follow the road past Liquid Resort and you'll drive straight into the farm. Good luck.
