Hi All; As many of you know, I am moving to Dumaguete with my wife and two kids on November 1st. We will be arriving in Dumaguete on the 3rd. I was wondering if any one has had any experience with any local Real Estate Offices. I am wanting to lease a nice three bedroom house, hopefully about 150 to 180 square meters, on a nice lot, Not in the middle of town, but not too far out of town either. (I'm not to picky am I, we'll blame it on my wife.) Any way, if any one has had any experience with any Real Estate Office's that they could recommend, their name and contact number, (or e-mail address), would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gecko
You can see some of 'Island Properties' offerings on line. You can get an idea of the price change for what you get in Dgte, Bacong, Dauin, Sibulan, etc. Good luck.
Do yourself a favor and avoid Archer at Island Properties or their sister site. He is a lazy twit. As an example, he will charge you for the gas to go to a property IF you can ever get the lazy bum to set an appointment. If you request to see properties in a certain price range, you will be shown whatever house he can make the largest commission on, regardless of price range.....IF you can get the lazy bum to actually show you anything.
I'm with you on that one. Phones are not answered, calls are not returned, texts are ignored and information is sketchy to say the least. If you go into the office there, on Calindagan Road, you will see most employees diligently thrashing away on a computer working up a sweat on their Facebook account. The office shuts down for an hour at lunch time. There is no business understanding that they could stay open if half the employes went from 12-1 and the other half fom 1-2. There is no information on paper that they can give you, no details of properties that you can take away and browse, except by going on to the internet yourself, in which case its a waste of time going to their office anyway. Ask where a certain property is, and you'll get a general waving of the arm in a westerly direction with the instruction that it's "over that way". If you press them for the location, you'll be told "I can show you". Telling them that you don't want to be shown inside it yet, you just want to know the area and go and have a look at the outside, you'll probably be told "you can make an appointment". When I finally managed to get some rough direction from him for a property in Daro, that he could not give me the address of, I went out to have a look in the early evening, wanting to check for dogs, chickens, squealing pigs and the inevitable karaoke. I found the property had a house number and was also on a named road. I also found that it had been occupied for the last 4 months.!!! Island properties ?? Crap service from an overpriced organisation. One to avoid.
Welcome to Philsouth Properties and Development Corporation i currently have housing project with them
Why use a realtor Most of the expats I know here found their abode simply by spending a few days driving around looking for "For Rent" signs. I'd guess that most available rental houses are not listed anyway.
