⌛ Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Roger and I am a Filipino-American currently living and working in San Jose, California, USA. I was born and raised in Manila and am fluent in Tagalog. I am a dual citizen of both Philippines and US. I am a US veteran having served in the US Army during Desert Storm. I am a single 47 year old male but am not looking for a relationship right now. I was divorced in 2006. The reason I joined this forum is that Dumaguete appears to be a ideal place to retire: several universities, close to the water and to other islands, lots of seafood, and large expat community. I am planning to retire in June of 2014 and am planning a trip to Dumaguete in November 2012. I am looking forward to meeting some of you then!

Welcome to the forum. I used to live in Almaden Valley and also in Cupertino. Dumaguete is a comfortable place to retire.

 

Welcome from me also. With your criteria, Dumaguete would seem to suit your retirement needs ideally. I'm just concerned about an influx of Rogers!! As time goes on, I could get quite confused

Thanks for all your kind welcome! Now I'm really eager to visit! I visited Cebu, Bohol, Camiguin, and Cagayan de Oro last year but am still looking for other places to consider for retirement.

 

I'm currently in the Orange County area of S. CA, but spent a year in Bacong which is just south of Dumaguete.
