Hi Folks, Azon's computer has gone into power saving mode and will not Re-Boot, As most of you know, I am some 10.000 miles away and she is not, that technically minded, is there anyone out there, that can offer me advice, that I can give her over the Phone, to get it Re-Booted. Any and all advice will be Much appreciated. I hope that this is just cable blip.

Jack, try and boot up with the installation disk, if you haven't got one, some one might lend you one.

    Ah! Ok!

:D I have sent a message to Azon, she tells me, she is not sure if there was one, I have asked her to ask about for one anyway, we will see what happens, Thank You for the reply Ron, I get the impression, I will be at this all night, if there is no Disk available? I am sure there will be another way, What do you think?

Easiest thing to do is press the Emergency Shutdown Button with a straightened paper clip to shut it down. Allow to wait 15 mins.

Try to put the computer on again.

    (Hope that helps!)

OOOPS...! Are we talking about laptops here? If it is a desktop, just press the on-off button of course (without the help of a paper clip:D:D).

RELAX...! So it seemed she was able to re-boot it. Problem now is the power saving mode.

Maybe she accidently programmed (minutes or so?) it? She first must check that out.

Jack, if it's a lap top, move the mouse to the power/charging icon at the bottom right of the screen and right click. This should bring up a small window. Find Power Options and left click. This should bring up another larger window, and in this she should be able to unclick Power Saver.

    Hope that helps.

When you say it will not re-boot, do you mean she switches the pc off and on again, but the power save mode is still there?
I had this with my pc at work. Its not the pc that's the problem but the monitor is not receiving a signal from the pc.
My problem was a damaged pin in the connector that attached to the monitor.
Sometimes the connector on the monitor or on the pc can get damaged as well.

To find out where the problem is, ask your wife if she knows someone with a pc/laptop and monitor, and borrow the monitor and cable.
Then, first attach the friends monitor to your pc with your cable. If the monitor works, then the problem was with your monitor.
If the monitor doesnt work, then use the borrowed cable between your pc and your monitor. If that works, your cable is the problem.
If the borrowed cable still does not solve the problem, then that only leaves your pc as the problem source.
I know that was all a bit long-winded, but asking a non technical peson to check the pc, cable and monitor connectors for pin/socket damage might be asking too much!
