Its excellent. You can buy THE Vietnamese noodles at Metro supermarket, Ayala in Cebu.

Pho noodle soup is a good example of a difference between Philippines and other Asian countries. The food "local" food here is crap, where as in Thailand, Vietnam, Loas etc its exciting, very good and a pleasure to eat. Here BBQ chicken and "unlimited" rice.

Took my partner to Vietnam and it was worth the expense, as she makes excellent Pho noodle soup.

well there is a huge difference between looking at a recipe, page and finding the authentic ingredients in the Philippines, specially in Dumaguete, isn't it?

... unless you love to eat the printout...

I think the PI have some delicious dishes, just hard to find them offered in restaurants or eateries.

While in the rest of asia each street-kitchen makes outstanding food

That is my real question, can we get the ingredients in Dgte? I wonder if the Vietnamese noodles are available here. If I find someone going to Cebu Ayala I will ask as a favor to bring some back.
Sid, I like your use of the word "exciting" to describe Thai and Vietnamese food, I agree. I also miss a good sushi mix, Makati has a couple fine places, although Casablanca has some excellent sashimi when they get it in.
