    I think you can take a Ceres bus, which goes on a ferry or just take a superkat from Cebu and it'll take you to Dumaguete pier with a stop in Bohol, but don't quite remember. I'd take the "Superkat"

    The land trip is the easiest to arrange, and the cheapest way. Just go to the south bus terminal in Cebu and ask for the Dumaguete bus. But the land trip is a nightmare if you're at all prone to motion-sickness. I always take a barf-bag with me, and rarely escape using it. The fast ferry is much better. It's been a long time since I used it, so I don't the current schedule or costs. The night ferry is the best way. Ask for a bed as far as possible from the TV (that they blare all night), and you might be able to sleep the trip away.

    Cebu Pacific makes a Cebu-Dumaguete-Cebu run early mornings on Mon-Wed-Fri. It's fast and cheap if you book early and get a discount ticket. You can take the Ceres bus back to Dumaguete on the same afternoon and be sick at home. If the bus ride doesn't make you puke the ferry may finish you off

    We go to/from Cebu usually 2-5 times per month, and much prefer the bus over the plane. To each their own.

    Today we tried booking flights to Cebu for next week, nearly P4000 one way! Normal travel cost/timelines from downtown Duma to downtown Cebu as per our experience (2 people);

    Flying;

    Varies, has never been less than P2500 for two of us. fllight time .75 hour includes deplaning
    Pedicab P30 .3 hr.
    Taxi, Mactan to downtown P300, .5 hour
    Pedicab to Airport P30, .25 hr
    Arrive 1 hour early
    Total time just under 3 hours under optimum circumstances
    Cost P3000+

    Bus, trike from downtown to sibulan pier P80, .5 hour
    Boat .25 hour, P62
    Bus to Cebu 3 hours, P338

    Total just under P500, 4 hours downtown to downtown

    Your mileage may vary

    What I failed to add to it is the P200 each terminal fee at the airport.
