Not sure but is there a difference in the electric rates for a renter in an apartment versus a house.

Was told an apartment renter pays the commercial rate which is considerably higher than residential rates.

Does anyone know how this works in Dumaguete.

    Depends!

    Are you renting ?
Is the Electric account in your name? If so! it is Domestic rate!

If the Account is in the Owners name, then he/they will pay corporate charges, They can charge, you, to a degree what, they like.
Check it out DR, any problems, let me Know OK, PM me or just shout.

Renting an apartment, the account is in the owners name. There are separate meters for each apartment..the meter man reads the usage once a month, prints the bill from a hand held instrument and the helper brings the bill (ticket) to the apartment for payment.

How do we know if the billing is for commercial versus residential rates and if so what are the price differences.

Are apartment renters paying more for electric usage than renters of houses? Was told they are. Just wondering the percentage if this is true.

My electric bill is more than my rent.

Depends on which amount you're talking about and of course how many appliances are consuming, specially when aircon is on 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. If the rent is rock bottom low than the electricity bill will not make you bankrupt. However is your rent is sky high and your electricity bill even higher than I would say there's something really very wrong.
