I think you must have misread my post or I didn't type it quite right
The Philippines is the only country in the world which does not allow a divorce (that means they do not have divorce court here).
Every other country in the world will now allow their people to divorce within their country and I am not talking about religion, but actual law.

QUOTE=jackpeterson;76121] Bruce! SPAIN, MALTA, ANDORA ARGENTINA AND THE VATICAN STATE. All have amended their divorce laws to coincide with Catholic ways of Divorce. As discussed earlier, DIVORCE is Legal, IF you are a Foreigner married to a National. EVEN in the PI. Lets not confuse the issue please, Until the Pope OR PRESIDING Government says different (and I wonder who is more important) any nationals of the same CATHOLIC Country, CAN NOT DIVORCE. The No divorce law you quote is not as clear as it seems.[/QUOTE]

There is 'legal separation' here, where I believe the government allows both parties to separate, however, our beloved Catholic Church reckons you'll be committed to hellfire and damnation, eternally if you do so, apparently.

Yes, but you have to pay the fee and apply for an annulment to actually be separated here from what I have been able to find out from an attorney friend.
Oh and don't worry about the hellfire because there is a Bishop there with his hand out when the fees are paid and he is also involved in deciding whether you can annul your marriage when and if it comes to that (eventually).

    B..S.t

Bull sh*t Bruce, Annulment is a legal thing, NAFF all, to do, with the Church. Just Read the law Larry quite correctly Quoted, before making Sweeping Statements.
Bishops taking back handers, what ever next?

The church plays by it's own rules, which have nothing at all to do with legalities. Once one marries ANYWHERE, in church or not, he/she cannot marry in the Catholic church until death do them part, or CHURCH annulment (not to be confused with legal annulment or divorce)

Nobody except muslims can get divorced IN the the Philippines, regardless.

    And especially YOU!

One more point to make where there seems to be some confusion, there is Legal annulment, and, there is CHURCH annulment. Legal annulment will make one eligible to marry in a civil ceremony, whereas if one wants to remarry in the church they must have legal annulment AS WELL AS a church annulment.

    Question?

:confused:Larry, Could that be because they were never, legally married, not having it Registered. So no one, only their Church, would Know?
I ask only because this, would seem unfair to all others.

    Why are you so hostile?
What you are saying about annulment has nothing to do with what I posted, it just strayed that way.
Please go back to my first post and you will see what I was trying to say, no divorce is legal in the courts of the Philippines, you have to leave the country for that.
The Philippines is the only COUNTRY in the world with no divorce court.
Also, check for yourself if you don't think a Bishop is on the panel when you file for an annulment, it is stated in the legal description, but I'm not going to waste my time looking it up for you.
And also again, what I said has nothing to do with what Larry had to say, I only stated an added fact or two.

There is a separate section of laws burried somewhere in the civil code that applies to Muslims and marriage. Not much time to look for it currently though.
