Hi -- Can anyone recommend a tree removal service? We have an old papaya tree in the front yard that is now half tipped over due to the heavy rains last night, but it's too hard to remove on our own.

Any suggestions for a service would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Sue

Papayas have very soft and shallow roots. Did out around the base a little and it will likely fall over on it's own. Anyone with a bolo can cut it up, the pulp is very soft.

Larry, your advise is good as long as this "OLD" Papaya Tree is not one of this 25 feet tall monsters with several branches and loaded with fruits...

My experience is that most of the 25 foot tall old papayas remove themselves after a few months, same with bananas.

For everyone's information, one can contact the "Tree Removal/Trimming Services" from the office at the Municipal Building at Quezon Park, if one stands in front of the building, one goes on the left side to the back where there are some offices and ask for the person in charge.
Also if the Tree is a hazard to the power lines, one can contact NORECO and they will send a team to take care of the problem, in both cases the service is free of charge but the workers doing the job like to have some "Merienda" or "Pasalubong" for their effort... that also makes them respond quicker next time you need them...
