Sorry to have been absent for so long but moving, furniture buying, yard work, block wall building, and all of the rest of the things I try to avoid, has kept me busy.

First of all..... Yes, it was me that had the break-in a couple of months ago (and I'm still pissed). They got my 4 day old 21"TV and my DVD that was less than one day old. Never again my friends, never again.

On that subject, they did not get our 2 iPhones or our 2 laptops. They were in our bedroom with us. However, subject to Rhoody's approval, I would like to recommend a free program that I now have on both laptops. It is called "Prey" and can be found at preyproject.com. It is a very cool program that allows you to track a stolen laptop, take pictures of the thief (if camera), see what pages he is going to, and several other features. It is free. I have it on both laptops now and I tested it from one to the other and it works great.

Of course, I also recommend a good 9mm and sleeping with the bedroom door open, as I do now. Norinco has a copy of a 92F that sells for about 27,000 peso and that includes a 4 year license. And this is not meant to start any debate about the pros or cons of gun ownership here. This is ONLY my personal preference. Anyone who is anti-gun is free to hide in their bedroom if they choose to do so.

Regarding Pat O..... I am so happy for the 3 of them. She looks great, the baby looks great, and Pat looks a little older, all of a sudden. Again Pat, congrats and thanks for the pictures.

I will try to post as often as time permits and help anyone that needs help or questions answered. Please understand that I am still trying to get things done here and organized. As I told my sweet wife, I may just go back to the US and get a full-time job, so I can relax. This being retired in the Philippines is too d*mn much work (only joking).

Hi Ron and welcome back to the fold. I already figured out that it was you that had the break in, so glad things are working out for you and settling down again. If it happens again, don't get mad, don't get even, get revenge. :D

I mentioned you to Pat when we met last night and he said that you were ok. So once again, welcome back.

I'm good at revenge...... The ring leader is in jail, the other 2 are still walking around but avoiding me. I made sure they knew that they messed with the wrong guy this time.

well as a US retiree its good to be in the Phils but to live there you must think like Filipino why because the moment the goons know you are there it seems everybody think your like a bank so better to be aware and vigilant in nature own a dogs then guns is acceptable as long for self defense and to fight those bad element so i guess its ok,just an advise always keep it away from kids because they may think its a toy,in the Philippines the moment someone come to your house un announced and at night you can shot it directly for they are robbers and bad people,im my home i always told anybody who tresspass at night i will shot myself and will not get any chance to go inside.

Oh, and yes we also have a new puppy. Now quite "killer age" yet (7 weeks) but he has learned to bark at anyone entering the yard. I am very proud of him. He also sleeps in our bed for now. A block wall, a dog and a 9mm. I feel safe....

Ok..... More details on the motion sensor type alarms please. I'm interested. I was planning on using a vehicle alarm so it would be battery powered when there is a "brown out" as they call it here. A door switch on each window and door was my plan.
