You bet Steve, I have it my planner!
I dont mean to go political, but the democrats are one of the primary reasons I am leaving the states...I don't even recognize the place and I ain't that old!

Heh Brother Jim come and join us but don't think you will be escaping us Dems. I retired from FDNY many years ago, Rescue2 in Brooklyn. I'm still a proud member of the UFA and die hard union supporter and liberal. Join us for a beer when you get here maybe we can change your mind.

It may be that if you are from Texas that hot is fine, it's only 101 f here right now, you may not miss the freezing and the last Dumaguete tornado was when?

    Hey Kenny,
Hahahaha that is great! Well brother, I know there is a whole lot more me and you have in common than not! Im a San Francisco firefighter and a union member myself...you can imagine the difficulties I sometimes encounter there being one of about 50 republicans in the entire county! Just can't seem to get the conservative out of my blood, and of course, know in my heart of hearts, that YOU people are all wrong! : ) I have three older brothers and Lord knows two are still trying to convert me, so I think it will take more than just a few beers...but I appreciate the invitation and look forward to joining you and yours for a cold one.
Thank you for the service man...glad to see you are enjoying retirement.
    Take care.

    Permres,
How are you? I just noticed the post. You lived in Canoga Park as well. Nice!
I am starting to notice that many of us here have so much in common.
The deal is sealed. My next trip is to Duma!
Hey! Maybe we can have a Valley Boy reunion? No? lol
Ok, Im sure we can come up with a good enough reason to have a get together one of these days.
    Have a nice day.

Guess got your message too late

Jim, I regret didn't see your message soon enough, I guess you're not here...are you still planning to move here? You still in Canoga Park? Got a lot of memories there. Used to do electrical-A/C contracting there some years ago. You acquainted with Skouras Ave. and Vanowen Bl? That was my stomping grounds.

Welcome to DI to You and Your family Gecko. While My family and I don't yet reside in the Dumaguete area(very soon). I think you have made a wise choice. We have stayed at Check-Inn several times and have nothing negative to say. Clean, friendly staff, centrally located, money changer in lobby, Immigrations only a few steps away. Several good restos within walking distance, tons of pedicabs. My only gripe is they don't offer brewed coffee, just the instant Filipino fav 3n1. We will be staying there again this weekend as we continue to scout property in the Valencia area.
