Yes I have read the threads regarding hotels and see the general consensus is Palwa or Nicano ,,, but I am one of those cigarette smoking outcasts that people love to hate. But I have always been a respectful / considerate smoker and I want a room or suite with blaconey so i can smoke OUT on the balconey not in the room. Suggestions? I notice Florentina homes have blaconey's on all there Villa's but I wanted something closer to the "board walk".
Hey Chappo, I'm also an uncivilized smoker and stayed at the Nicanor. Although the rooms do not have a balcony, smokers can use the fire escape where there were even tables and chairs to enjoy your smoke in peace and quiet. Vicmico
Vicmico ,, Thanks fopr reply , much appreciated. Smoking in a fire escape just seems wrong on so many levels ,,,,,,,, I really want a proper blaconey attached to room / suite so can just wonder out to the fresh air to fill my lungs with smoke ,,LOL Price is not really an issue as it is only a 5 night stay ,,, I guess Florentina Villa ( homes) is looking like best option ,, just hope transport to the main street is easy enough. Also i am guessing the COCO presidential suite would have a balconey or two ,, I'll email them. Cheers Dave
if money is no issue, get a car with driver... otherwise, no problem to catch a trike at florentina is from 6am to 9pm at all, later than that you might need to wait 5 minutes or a 10 minute walk to the main street. some of the brandnew rooms in the hotel section have nice big balcony.
O-| I should be more carefull with my words. I meant it seems that hotels there are very much within my price limit I will be needing a car and driver for a day trip to Valencia , twin lakes etc ,, so I'll check forum for info on that. Trike or 10 minute walk ,, well I have no problems ,, like to walk before dinner and beers anyhow. Florentina it is ,, will email them now. Thanks again for the assistance and i hope as i learn more about Dumaguete I can help others.
Hey Rhoody, doesn't the La Residencia Al Mar have a couple of rooms with Balconies that face the BLVD? I'm not sure how nice the Hotel itself is or the cost, but it seems like an ideal location for Mr.Chappo
i think they have, but they wouldn't not let me in when I wanted to take some pictures (no, they were not fully booked), so that place is totally off my list because of "overwhelming friendliness"
I was in La Residencia Al Mar and got photos once, i'll see if I can dig them up. The rooms were nicely done but man were they small...as in tiny. From memory 1800-2200 pesos.
La Residencia rooms at the front are ok, but the noise from the Boulevard is non-stop and overwhelming. Some rooms at the back are only big enough to be a broom cupboard.
