I know it is early, but since there are Christmas decorations up since September in some of the stores and the R. Mall. I was wondering if there are any gatherings, formal or informal, and pot luck type events for Thanks giving Dinner get-together. Are they any groups that meet for Thanksgiving at home(s) or in restaurants? I am aware by reading some of older blogs (http://www.dumagueteinfo.com/board/general-chat/happy-thanksgiving-all-who-enjoy-7486-3.html) that Casa Blanca has a Thanksgiving dinner. Does Casa Blanca do this every year? Is it crowded at Casa Blanca? Are there other venues that serve a Thanksgiving Dinner?
Dave, we have gone to CB the last two years, Guenther cooks up a nice traditional dinner, I am sure he will once again have a turkey day. Haven't heard of any groups getting together, although Manzanita used to have a turkey farm and sell fresh turkeys before Thanksgiving Day.
Thats a good question I have been in the city off and on since 2004 one time on TURKEY DAY. Back then no one cared lol. I raise tukey in Bacong and donot own a oven so we cook them lechon style but it is dry after. Would like to try that restraunt. Along with a turkey dinner I miss MLB baseball, a good hamburger, L.A. style mexican food and Wal-Mart lol. But I still love it here.
How much in price? Are the portions good? 3 questions here. Is a reservation required? Are the portions big? About how much is the price?
yes, I am pretty sure, i am not sure easiest to make your reservation via call or shoot them a mail here : Casablanca Restaurant
I checked with Guenther yesterday about the Thanksgiving day. 1. Reservations are recommended but check with Casablanca first. Guenther wants to avoid last years situation where some tables stayed empty because people made reservations but didn't show up. 2. Menu is a fixed Thanksgiving menu, generous portions, of pumpkin soup, turkey and cranberry sauce with all the trimmings etc. 3. Fixed price of 695 peso.
