I was surprised by the WAGYU steak in Tierra Alta (Valencia,Neg Or). At PHP 550.00 it's definitely worth it. Compared to Why Not, Casablanca, Sans Rival and Don Atilano, this steak is way up ahead in flavor and tenderness. Melts in your mouth, perfect smoky taste and TOO GENEROUS serving not only the beef (about 18-22 oz.) but also the mashed potatoes and veggies. This steak would probably cost php 1,500 to 2,000 in Manila. I've lived in the States for 8 years, Tierra Alta's steak is at par with a couple of the best steakhouses in the East Coast. I was also impressed with the rest of our orders such as Osso Buco, Cordon Bleu etc., their servings are just too generous for the filipino appetite.

Hmmmmmm I am contemplating "WAGYU" as the origin of the steak?

Wow, didn't know Tierra Alta has a Restaurant now... Thought there was only a Zipline, lighthouse and one house built so far after 4 Years of existence.... nice place, but for Me the properties are way overpriced....cheers

Moon Cafe back of Robinson's, has an excellent tasting steak for 250P, veges are terrible potato's are just ok. I get the shrimp garlic appetizer also, and then use that sauce to dip my steak in...it's killer

Terra Alta Cafe Tonight: We went for dinner to try out the T.A. Cafe, given the drive from where we lived we went early. I had high expectations and a hunger for the "best steak in town". We were the only guests in the cafe so the one waiter on duty for one table provided good service. Toward the end of our dinner a family came in with a screaming kid (not a baby) and highlighted the bad acoustics problem with the layout - nothing implemented to break up the conversations between the tables.
We started each having a Caesar Salad which was very good and as it turned out, the highlight of the dinner. My wife and I both ordered the Wagyu, after the waiter explained their Wagyu was a New York strip steak. Not. Although large in size, only 1/4 of mine was chewable as the rest was fat, grizzle, and tendons or something I could not eat. Very disappointing. My wife's, on the other hand, had a large non-fat center piece and she enjoyed it and took some home. I realize the locals like to eat the fat on the steak but I don't so I called it to the waiters attention. I told him I would pay for it but as he could see the leftover was heading back to the kitchen. A guy came out, didn't intro himself so not sure if it was the chef or the manager (or both) and apologized and explained that some Wagyu have fat and whatever, and he would make me another one. I thanked him but said not necessary. By the way, the wine list is very limited.
So, in my opinion it is not the best steak in town or even close. When Casablanca has their Angus in stock it is great and fully consumable and my favorite as "best steak in town". I haven't eaten at Why Not so I cannot compare and I haven't tried Moon Cafe so cannot compare.
Just my experience, I hope others get a better steak but beware of the Wagyu 3/4 fat and grizzle if you don't eat that part.

Doesn't sound like TA is worth the drive, at least not for the steak.

I was there maybe 6mos ago, and the guard said the clubhouse was for residents only.

Anyone know the hours of the restaurant at TA?

We tried the cafe at Tierra Alta today..

Service was slow at noon, the bartender was running between our table and things he had to do behind the bar.

There were four of us, two meals had an ok amount of food. The babyback ribs had almost zero meat, and the chicken l'lorange seemed puny.

I ordered buttered vegetables with my bacon wrapped filet mignon, and there weren't many veggies to be had on my plate. Also, the chef had for some reason piled the steak and mashed potatoes atop the veggies. One tall tower of everything in the middle of the plate.

High prices, smallish quantities, iffy service.

Not worth the trouble of going out there, other than the view
