Sadly, there's no much organized activity for children in the Philippines, outside of the schools. That's why they get into gangs, and recreational sex, so early. Not a good place to raise a child.
There are summer swimming lessons at the pool behind Capitol building. I am also looking too but this is the best I have found so far!
Are you out of your mind? The Philippines is a great place to raise a child. It's like The USA was in the 50's, where parents shared morals and values with there children. Most families here are very tight nit where parents and there children sit down and have dinner together and talk about there day. The children here are very respectful and family orientated. If you truly want to be part of your childs life then the Philippines is surely the place to raise them. And gangs and recreational sex doesn't compare to countries abroad!
Respectful? Hehe. Little shits with no discipline. These kids here would have had there asses beat in the 50's in the US.
The question raised by this thread is activities for children, not parenting and family. Swimming lessons are good. Most Philippine islanders cannot swim! and that's a reflection on parenting. I hope that others will chime in and inform us of other organized activities for children. But I fear my initial reaction is correct: The Philippines is not a child-oriented society. Teachers and school administrators are smart, hard-working and sincere. They do organize activities that teach competition and cooperation. But the funding of education is so poor, as a percentage national wealth, compared to most other ASEAN nations, that their efforts must come within the school day, at the expense of the basics of education.
I just saw a poster at Silliman for summer sports of table tennis, lawn tennis and swimming. Call PE department at Silliman 422 6002. I am planing to have a look too. Hope this helps.
