    I've been married to a Filipina from Dumaguete for 13 years now. I am still at a loss on how to put up with her temper/tampo when she gets mad. Usually happens once a month (wonder why?) and then the fangs and claws come out. Normally she is even tempered and nice. But when this happens, watch out! She will say the nastiest, hurtful, mean, terrible things she can imagine, just to hurt my feelings. Sometimes I wonder if she really means it and it only comes out when she is mad...does anyone else experience this with a Filipina and how do you handle it?

    You have my sympathies. I had the same thing when I was married, she was also extremely violent and unpredictable, and I don't know what the answer is. It's one of the mysteries of the female.

    It's wise to be very cautious of something that can bleed for a week and still not die.

    There has to be a Kano or Filipino or maybe even a Filipina that can answer this...

    I only get this problem about once a year, when I do I usually;

    A; Leave, come back the next day.

    B; Return the treatment.

    Seems to work, I don't get it very often!

    My X wife was the same way. I solved the problem by divorcing her. Not all women are like that. I find it unacceptable and immediately give them the boot if they do that crap now.

    At least im not the only one lol. Im not gonna say you should ignore it but you have to put up with it. Most filipinas have real bad tempers especially when you upset and call them names, you should run for the hills! As what my husband always said to me, i always have this way of making him really upset when we fight by calling him all the nastiest names in the world and one of us has to leave the house or else one of us will end up burning the house on the ground. Thats how bad it used to be but then we learnt after of course from spending too much money from the damages we've made from the fight, we came to an agreement, i
    must say a pact that if one is already angry, one must know to keep his/her cool regardless how bad the situation is because once both of youse are angry no problems will ever get fixed from an angry mind. So keep your cool, she must have said some nasty things against you but trust me, she doesnt mean it. Shes probably got carried away by her anger and most people say the worst things possible there is just to stir up someone and ends up regretting it.

    But most women are and if your gonna keep up divorcing them, youll never find the right one. If you marry someone, that means you already have accepted what he/shes gonna be like, embracing the imperfections afterall nobodys perfect but its up to the couple to work out on their indifferences :-)

    The "right one" won't physically and verbally abuse me on a monthly basis.

    Nice-sherwood...you said I should ignore it and have to put up with it? Bakit naman? I react nicely. "You need to stop" "you haven't stopped yet", "stop now". I could lose my temper but don't. I should not have to put up with verbal abuse like that. I want an insight into the Filipina mind. Why? Don't they know they are hurting us when they do that? Do women from other cultures do this?

    Men have a mind like an elephant, they don't forget! Is this typical of all Filipinas? Are they taught that? Is this true tampo?

    It's not just filipinas but it certainly is more prominent in Latino cultures (yes filipino are the Asian Latinos). I think you can blame the Spanish for the way the women are here. Best thing to do is just leave the house if you aren't willing to divorce her. Everytime she does it just leave. If you come back and she does it again, leave again. You need to condition them to where they understand that when it happens you leave. I really am at a loss at what else to do other than that. Engaging in any conversation with an angry menstruating filipina is just a disaster waiting to happen.
