The very first sentence in this tells me this info was not all gathered in 2013, or the information gathered was old. Cebu ferries is now 2GO, and 2GO has restarted and then again stopped serving this route several times since that takeover. This particular notice came out about two years ago, before 2GO took over operations of Cebu Ferries.

There currently is no fastcraft between Duma/Dapitan.

Cokaliong runs Tues, Weds, Thurs, and Saturday.

The information was for sure gathered in 2013, but of course I can not quaranty the validity of explanations given to me (or in this case my wife) by some employe at a ticket office.

"Construction work in the harbour" can for sure prevent a ferry from sailing. But it might also be used as an exuse, if the real explanation for, why a service has been suspended, is less flattering for the company. "Our boat has broken down again" or "we can not real make up our mind, if we want to service this route or not" doesn`t sound nearly as good as "construction Work".

Recently I had the experience of checking in for a Philair Express flight from Dumaguete to Manila, which was then cancelled ½ hour prior to the planned departure. Officially that was "because of the weather" (it had been raining all morning), but I strongly suspect the real reason was something else, and that the weather was just a convenient excuse.

Anyway. For customers the important is hardly to know, why a service has been suspended, but if it is there or not.

Its true that Cebu Ferries along with Superferries have been renamed / merged into 2GO travel. I still use the old names by habit, and apologize for any confusion, this might have caused.

I wish there will be more way to travel to dumaguete from CDO. I always go for Dapitan-Dumaguete since I love to travel by land..but a direct way with convenience is what the Kagayanon would love to have.)

now the bridge connecting Linamon and Kauswagan has been washed away Overflowing river destroys bridge linking two Lanao towns | GMA News Online boatmen are charging 300 pesos to cross the short stretch of water, for bike and rider. I had just crossed it the day before and was in nearby Maigo when it happened. Now in Ozamis city, I have decided that the best way to get back to Iligan is to take the five times a week (no Tuesday or Sunday sailings) from Ozamis to Iligan city rather than driving and taking 2 short ferries, one across Ozamis bay and another one across the Pago river.

this is the Cokaliong Cebu-Iligan ferry that stops in Ozamis for a couple of hours en route. The fare for bike and rider is around 900 including the add ons, economy passenger is 150, it takes three hours and is supposed to leave at 7.30am. This compares to a cost of about 500 going the conventional route overland with the (now) two ferries. Is it worth 400 pesos not to bother having to drive it and breaking up the journey twice, to get on boats and where you just drive the bike off the ferry straight into Iligan town? I think yes. Especially in this sh*t weather.

no news yet as to when the Linamon-Kauswagan bridge will be repaired. My guess is it might take a while, when the Mayor and Police Chief will presumably be getting a slice of the 300 pesos the boatmen are charging.
