  • The trouble with getting away from it all is often you get lost in the big business of tourism and this happens nowhere more than in your choice of lodging. Large resorts seem too often treat their customers like cattle and you sometimes feel like you need a vacation from your vacation.

If what you need is a place the offers the comforts and facilities of a large resort but has the feel of a small relaxed resort then Mike’s Dauin Beach Resort is the place for you.

Located 20 minutes south of Dumaguete, Mike’s Dauin Beach Resort has six standard and two deluxe roomsand therefore offers the comforts and facilities of a large resort but is small enough to give you the attention you need. Just a few meters from your room you will find a lagoon pool with a beautiful waterfall. Or if you would prefer you can go for dip in the resort beach.

The main focus of Mike’s Dauin Beach Resort is diving. They have a dedicated team of Instructors and dive guides available to help plan and guide you around the fantastic dives around Dumaguete’s coasts. The local dive sites near the resort are varied and fascinating. With the area fast becoming the place for macro enthusiasts and Apo Island, a world famous coral sanctuary only 45 minutes away, Mike’s Dauin Beach Resort is perfectly positioned to take advantage of all that the Coral Triangle has to offer.

Mike and his team of dive guides and Instructors between them have well over 50 years of experience under water. The resort offers full range of PADI scuba diving training from beginners to divemaster level.

If you fancy a day on dry land there are plenty of places around Dumaguete and Mike’s Dauin Beach Resort can arrange tours such as dolphin watching in Bais City, a trip to the Casaroro falls or the Mabinay caves. When you get back from a day of diving or sightseeing, the resort’s bar and restaurant is ready to serve you a cold beer or a wide selection of food with an American and Mexican influence.

Mike, who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area, and his wife Joe Ann opened their Beach Resort with one goal in mind; and that was to provide not only a great place to stay but keep a friendly, relaxed family oriented place for both divers and tourists to Dumaguete. They have two children, JM and Miley Kate, who you will meet when you stay at the resort as they welcome you to their extended family.

Each and every guest who has stayed at Mike’s Dauin Beach Resort comes away knowing they have stayed somewhere truly special and are always welcome back as cherished guests (Check out www.tripadvisor.com on line for excellent reviews). If you are looking for the perfect mix of a beach resort with the attentive care of a small resort, this is the place for you.

Although Mike Beach resort is know for it's Mexican food, try the hamburger. It is one of the burgers in town that is as close as it gets to an American (non-fast-food) type Hamburger.
