There is an epidemic of anxieties (stress is an anxiety and is also often associated with depression) in the Filipino population - and I am sure within expats also. There is much online about this and everyone affected needs to be their own teacher. It basically comes down to relaxation exercises and better thinking (as many of these mental health problems are incorrect learning - they are not structural brain damage as such). This can be supported by medication - provided the user can control it as an occasional aid and NOT as a replacement for the brain carrying out its own functions. It should preferably be used as a 'firebreak' only. There are sometimes obvious underlying causes and it is best to try to deal with those too - but broken limbs are repaired without needing to know what exact circumstances caused the injury. So if anyone gets anxieties and can identify the cause then best to deal with it and also repair the mental disruption BUT if they cannot identify the cause then deal with the effects regardless.
