Well respected ecomomist and author, Milton Friedman once stated "If the govt were put in chage of the Sahara Desert, in five years there would be a shortage of sand". I fully agree that govt is normally the most inept group of individuals ever assembled.

I agree in part with you. Personally I do not vote by party. I vote split ticket. Plus there are proposals that need voting on also. I still "re-elect no one". Yes the system is broke, but who is going to fix it if we don't. We need to get the old career politicians out and get back to the days when it was an honor just to serve one term.
I just can't stand back and let any minority voters make decisions for me with out at least trying. I feel everyone should vote. But it is a choice in a free country, well sort of free.
Too many people know all the football scores and players, baseball statistics for years back, basketball and so on but they haven't a clue who is evening running the U.S.. I saw a program the other night where 80% of the people interviewed didn't even know who the current V.P. is. Now that is sad.
It was reported that only 1/3 of eligible Filipino American voters voted. That is also sad.
We can collectively change the United States back to a reasonable country but it will not happen automatically.-

I refuse to vote for that scum on the ballot and I will continue to complain about it. If I didn't pay a sh*t ton of taxes I would agree that I didn't deserve to complain. I do, so I will. When I finish my contracts I always apply for unemployment and any and all government benefits I can (legally) get my hands on to get as much of that tax money back as I can. The government has proven they are incapable of managing even the simplest of tasks, better that the money be back in my pocket than in theirs.
I didn't serve my country for any politician or political party (which is all that voting has been reduced to....you only have a say if you have ). If someone was running on the platform to outlaw political parties I would also register to vote for them.....so long as I was able to NOT vote for anyone else or give a vote of no confidence for anyone in a political party. There is only an illusion of political parties in the US. Both parties represent whoever pays the most first and only listen to what the people want enough to keep them in power.
I have absolutely no confidence in the politicians that represent the people of the US......and given their approval ratings I would say that the vast majority of people in the US agree with me.-

Anyone not voting should have nothing to say.
The system is far from perfect that is for sure.
But not voting at all is far worse in my opinion. One can always pick the lesser of two evils.
If we keep "Re-electing no one" we can eventually clean house.
What were some of us fighting and serving for if it wasn't for freedom and the privilege of voting ?
I can only hope by 2016 things will be different. But only if the voting public votes and has the will to change things.
I still write letters to my Senators and Representatives regularly. If we don't say something how do they know how we feel or what we want ?-
