Happens all the time, they are all temporary Filipinos. I have lost count of the number of lives I have saved here by being aware of that risk:cool:

I have no plate at the moment (bought a commercial vehicle and had to surrender the plates ) and was wondering why l was never stopped and questioned. Obviously l am so blatantly illegal, I must be a police officer of some sort, or so they must think!

On another note, l narrowly missed turning a motorcycle rider into gruel yesterday. They tried to pass me on the left while l was making a LH turn. If l had not just put 7k piso worth of work into my brakes, they would be dead. My left turn signal flew 20 meters down the road from the glancing collision. The locals told me they didn't stop because they had no licence.

The locals are right.. no license... no registration ... then they just say "Everything is OK, is OK with you BYE." Check yourself and vehicle thoroughly before they escape. Few drivers in Bacong who drive locally seem to have licenses or registration (or lights, plates, fenders, air cleaners, mufflers etc) on their motorcycles here. Most do not drive to Dumaguete so everything is OK they think... hmmmm. Come and visit the Wild West when you get a chance... they really are friendly people.
