I
I footed the bill once a while back for Boracay, not close to return on investment, regardless (note: prior life)
For the cost from here for 1 week at Boracay, I could go to Mike's Dauin Beach Resort for a month and have a better time.

We spent 5 days there a few years ago and I did not think it was overly expensive. Nice places to eat on the beach with a decent price for seafood; the hotel we stayed at was a good 5 minute walk from the beach but we spent little time there. I probably would not go again just because there is nothing else to do but the beaches and boats.
We were both bored after a couple days and even a failed fishing expedition in a tremendous lightning storm did not make it the best venture. Bohol was far better in my opinion and a place we want to go back again; so much more to see and do. We have not been to Palawan yet, but that is another place that I've heard is nice and is on the list of places to visit for us.

Over-rated and over-priced. I would only go back if someone else was footing the bill.....and even then I would think twice about it.
