It would appear, based on media reports, that there were many mistakes made here with this one unfortunately. Apparently in Indo, it is the Pilots responsibility to check the weather reports before flights not the Airline or control tower, or anyone else, which sounds rather strange ? Also, if the Radar systems were up to modern standards on land and also on the Plane, there would have been more than fair advanced warning of bad weather. And, the black boxes are not sending out signals, interesting ? Reports say that 8501 did not have a Permit to fly that route that day ? It makes a person ponder how safe these "low cost" airlines really are ?o_O The ongoing investigation may open up many problems and deficiencies perhaps ?

Hopefully they figure out what happened and they can learn from the mistakes made.

I almost hate to repeat a morbid comment journalist Miles O'Brien stated on CNN tonight regarding the disappearance of QZ8501 but it is pretty profound when you stop and think about it. He said, "it is crashes like this that make flying safe".
I believe he must have been referring to the potential lessons learned from flying into a storm the pilots could not safely find a way out, if that is what happened.
Whatever happened, may the victims rest in peace.
