Really depends what you're looking for in terms of housing, internet and how much you like the city!
Bacong is ok but there can be water issues depending where you are, Internet is ok here most of the time as adsl runs up until here. Further south its on wireless.
The market here is a dump and stinks but fresh fish tables down the road are ok with some good stuff. Also beaches here are not much good, you need Dauin for the better beaches.
If we moved from here it would be valencia even though there can also be water issues up there also when it rains.

I agree with Davy. I also live in Bacong because it is close to town, but far enough out where the air is fresher, less noise, and cheaper lots. Nothing like a U.S. suburb, to be sure, but the fresh daily fish and farmers market are other advantages. Not many pubs around except one can go to Bambulo or La Fiesta and one convenience store. Still, 10 min. to the mall or 10 min. to Dauin resorts help make it acceptable. I recommend it.

We live about 2km ''úp the hill'' from Valencia. There can be water problems if there's a big rain, but we haven't had a problem in the last 3 years. The market is good for veggies - also a good Sunday market. It's a very pleasant little town - only thing lacking I think is a good ''expat'' bar, but it's not too far too Bambulo or La Fiesta.
The electric rebate is discontinued now, but the evenings are much cooler than down on the coast so we hardly ever use ac - a big saving given the cost of electricity here.
San Pedro private school in Valencia teaches in English.
Also, we have never had any security issues here.

When we came here we rented for six months while we took a good look around. We ended up just north of Sibulan two Kilometres off the highway up hill so overlooking the sea. Seven years ago water and electricity were a bit of a problem but good internet. Things have changed and rarely have any problem with water or electricity unless there is really big storm. But the internet has got slower and slower as more people have hooked up. Still not too bad, but when you have had it better its something to grump about. Being a little away from the sea but on the hill we get cooler temperatures and nice cool breeze. We only use air con when its stinking hot and then we put it on for half an hour to cool the room down.

Prices when we bought were significantly cheaper here than Bacong or Valencia, but if you are a beach person there is not much around here. Sibulan doesn't boast much but we do get fresh fish along the highway and a market along the road at weekends but it seems to be growing rapidly and all sorts of things promised. Less Westerner's here but there are a few and the new gathering place seems to be Break Time on the highway just north of Sibulan. We met the butcher and the pie man there and had some good company. The food was good too, not sure if I am allowed to say that?
Hope you find what you are looking for.

It's in Valencia - along the road from the municipal offices. They teach elementary thru high school.

You should also take into consideration the proximity of the wife's family.
