Flesch–Kincaid readability tests - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have been looking at improving the main website and have ran across this test for literature. This is my first time seeing this term used. Much of the website's scoring runs around 30-50 on this this test (just below university grad comprehension.....maybe this is a college drop-out reading level ). I was surprised by this as many of the articles on the website were written by a paid Filipino writer.....though grammar, vocabulary and content is not taken into consideration. Run-on sentences could be partially to blame for this low (or high depending on how you look at it) score. Given the size of the site it's going to be rather painstaking to fix (basically re-writing all of the content....and English was not my best, or favorite, subject in school). There are much more pressing problems to deal with on the site than this that I will get to first, just thought I'd share something that I learned today.
