There is a feature on the forum that I haven't posted about yet. If you have a question you would like to ask but do not want people to know it is you posting it you can use the "Post this anonymously" option. You can also do this with replies to threads by checking the "Anonymous?" check box.
They look like this:
Posting a new thread.
Replying to a thread.
Checking either one of these boxes will make the post appear to come from Anonymous User and not your account.
Note: I can see who made the post and I can remove the anonymous status to show your real username. If someone abuses the feature I will know who is doing it and will change the post author to your real username. Assuming that no abuse happens, your secret is safe with me.
