Jack, We have to go down the road you suggested in an earlier post.....get the young local children, such as yours, to become the voice of change and voice opposition to the current problems in an effort to make change.

Filing cases can get you killed; happens quite a bit, read the papers.

Dangerous game to be playing in a third world country. Better hope that government employee doesn't have any friends/family in the BoI if you are a foreigner. (Note: they probably do.)

This legal info might help at some time in your stay here.

My wife is a school teacher in a public school and she just told me if anyone has a problem with any government employee and feel they have been cheated or wronged in any way they can file a lawsuit against them. In doing so that employee can never retire and be paid their retirement benefits until the case has been adjudicated by the ombudsmen or you drop the case against them.

That is a pretty powerful tool on our side if we are wrongly treated.

I hope it never comes too that for any of us.

RB I agree with you totally but........ until that happens ( and I can't Honestly see it in out life time) things will stay as they are, Stagnant :meh:

I liken this to my Air Force days, as an O/C and certainly once of the twice I was a C/O closing Ranks on certain things was order of the day. Even when SIB ( Special Investigations Bureau) got involved with things that we felt should be in House. You would not be surprised I know, Just How difficult things can be made for investigations given the mood and certainly the Opportunity, which can be engineered to suit.

No! to me, these things are best left alone

When I was doing my 13A annual report in 2014, it was total chaos at the BOI in Dumaguete. I must have visited it several times and each time the rules and procedure changed. As you must know, we eventually had to go to Cebu to be processed.
I wrote a long letter to BOI Chief Siegfred Mison regarding the total ineptitude of the Dumaguete Branch. I eventually got a reply just restating the requirements for the 13A annual reporting process. It is pretty obvious, that they have no respect for foreigners, other than taking our money and making the yearly visit miserable. So the answer appears to keep your head down and don't make waves, as they will always side with a filipino, no matter how strong or legitimate your case is. As a side note, the very person whom is running the BOI Chief Siegfred Mison is now under investigation for graft with several others, as posted earlier by Wrye83.

It certainly would be, if it got past the first Hurdle "Being a Foreigner" given the fact that we have no rights here whatsoever I wonder just how far and how seriously this complaint would be taken, recently I had a need to complain to the BOI about certain things happening in the Local office only to be told "if you want to stay here you have to do it our way"
I can imagine the problems arising from an official Complaint being lodged and Investigated. Smart will not talk to me about my IT problems as I am not the account holder. So. What chance do we have when the majority of Complaints will/may be about our House and Services. A house we don't own. I don't wish to appear negative but I tried to solve problems before and have been met with the 'Foreigner' thing so often.
