I quite agree, but here we are again, those without a voice, seeing the good in such a move or not as the case may be but asking my family and some friends at dinner last night, Locals and most of them were Professionals ( for want of a better word. ) seem only to think only of how it would profit them personally and most would only want it if Dumaguete stays as the Capitol ( Not a bad thought I guess) But in the main it would appear that, this muted move, is holding little or no Interest to the real people ( Locals in the Barangay) I have Spoken to.
Way back in the 70's the UK tried the same thing with a Few of our Counties. It was a Political move at the time and Squashed some Opposition.
Needless to say that it did not work and after some 8 or 9 years it was all reversed at I might say colossal cost. This as with a lot of things never seems to be taken into account.
This is a Republic so what will be will be but I sit and Wonder what if, it was a proper Democracy? Take it to the people and see what they actually think about it.
To me, a Referendum of the People of NEGROS is called for here.
JMHO Opinion but having lived through a similar Situation I can see it ending in Tears with a loss of money and maybe a loss of Votes where I feel it was expected to be the reverse
