I considered this as well but I actually had a thief I wanted to catch, not discourage. Haven't had a single incident since I installed the cameras though. A few of them don't work anymore.....but I ain't sayin' which ones.![]()

Even after shipping, duty, installation AND buying a completely separate DVR I still didn't spend over 22k on the system. (I needed a different type of DVR to view the cameras outside the house because Globe doesn't give static IPs and blocks the ports needed for the original DVR.)
Side note: I remember stopping in at that place across from Pasta King when I was looking for a system. I remember them trying to sell me a "system" that had 4 cameras for 12k.....it had no hard drive or DVR. The box said you needed Windows on your computer to run the software in the box. This meant that I would have to dedicate a computer and set aside at least 500GB of HD space just to be able to use that system. I don't know about everyone else but I don't have an extra (working) computer or 500GB just laying around.
). In the end they got the job done and system working as it should.....I just wasn't very impressed with the amount of time it took and the amount of supervision I had to put into the install. Also, don't buy any "upgrades" to cables or shielding; it's more than likely the poor connections at the cameras/DVR or incorrectly/poorly installed video cable connectors causing the crap you are seeing on your screen. And if you need any advice with the networking/motion sensing/scheduling/video quality settings on your DVR just post a thread on the forum and I'll help ya with getting it setup (you probably won't get much of any help on the DVR software/network/setup from these guys).
