Sounds like some good idea's as a start but of course none of it will be acted on. Further changes are needed as well that most any foreigner could probably come up with.

1. Ban school *parades on major roads and especially the National Highway.
2. Ban parking lots on major roads, you know all those motorcycles that double and triple stack even blocking up much of the road such as near the cockfighting pit and lee plaza. Along with this any vehicle found illegally parking or double parking even if just *waiting or dropping off* are impounded and fined.
3. Ban 2 stroke motorcycles along with any motorcycle found without a proper muffler or rigged to be noise excessive is impounded where the owner has 7 days to pay the fine along with install a proper muffler or the motorcycle is scrapped. IF no valid registration and plate the motorcycle goes straight to scrap if they meet the above issues.
4. Regulate easyride/jeepney stops and pickup places and any easyride or jeepney picking up or dropping off at a non pre-authorized stop is impounded and the driver's license is revoked.


I'd even go as far as banning farm animals in major residential areas but that may be a bit much.

 

At least someone is thinking for the future... Hope this actually gets acted upon.

 

Hmm Wrye83, its not what you like or what suits you. It is about what is good for the city. Just imagine the fumes that we inhale because of these not to mention the noise pollution. I must agree that parking is a nightmare but of course when they plan to ban transportation in the boulevard, perhaps they would also think of a safe parking. But I don't see this happening in 10 years time.

I still believe that smoking should be banned in public areas because not all people smoke. If you want to damage you lungs, be my guest But spare me You can always smoke where you live. Just my thoughts and I don't want to create any animosity

In another note, I think they should also give fines to those people who litter specially from the jeepneys bus etc. They just throw their garbage outside. I find that very disturbing. Shows the lack of education of some people.

How about building the byepass - Bacong around to Sibulan, ban heavy trucks from the city except from midnight to 5am, make the boulevarde pedestrian only - at least in the evenings from 5pm to midnight.
