There is no press coverage as yet on this But on the radio news this morning it stated that the Mayor has been caught out and charges are being preferred by 3 Councilors and the City Audit Department in that,
He used City Humanitarian Fund cash to pay for Hospital Bills for passengers in his Personal vehicle that met an accident. At First he denied it but then changed the story to well they are my constituents and it was a Humanitarian Act. This is how It appeared from the news cast. As the day unfolds no doubt others may add if they listen to more reports. I will post the Press release when/if it comes through
Boy oh Boy!

It makes me wonder why Starbucks are so popular, the coffee is crap and very overpriced.
Coffee should be fresh ground beans through a French press or an expresso machine with owt added to it! All this crap they put into it and the fancy names is just a gimmic.- Agree x 2

So if a new mayor for Dgte takes over, do you think we could finally get a Starbucks in town? I wonder who owns Bo's Coffee?

Taco bell I went to in Manila wasn't the same as in the US, I can't say it was any worse though. They seemed to be continuously packed and I believe it might be partly because they offered serve yourself refills from the soda machine.

I think there is a enough franchised-big-business Americanized junk food in this city and country as it is. I think there should be a law that says that there can only be 1 fast food franchise restaurant to every 50 mom and pop restaurant. Big franchises only make the poor poorer, it kills small business and creates tons of health problems for the locals that they cannot afford to see a doctor about. Fast food is a poison worse than shabu.
Not sure who has the two (or more?) franchises in Dumaguete.

(and to anyone wondering: no, foreigners cannot own franchises.....wanted to do that myself with the 7/11 franchise about 3 years ago. And to the local guy I asked to go in on it with me, I would just like to say....."Still think it wouldn't work?" )- Informative x 2
