The CT scanner in Provincial hospital is not in the main hospital area where all the sick people line the floors and walls near the "ER". It is in the building to the right of the main hospital behind where the cashier is located. The CT scanner room is clean.....at least compared to the rest of that hospital.

The cost of the scan will vary by the type of scan and location (head, chest etc.) I had a scan done last week. The Silliman doctor recomended having it done at Provincial, rather than Silliman, at a savings of P 1500 with no difference in result. Getting registered at Provincial was a bit of a runaround, but worth it to me.

I had the CT-Scan when I arrived at the hospital after a bad stroke and my wife had to pay before they would do it. She doesn't remember the cost but will research the paperwork when she has time. I can not recall much about the procedure except later the doctor told me no bleeding of the brain (thankfully) so I guess that is what they checked for.

Do they do CT scans in Dumaguete? I ask because I have never heard of anyone getting one here. If it was me, I would search Google and find a blog like this one:
CHEAPEST MEDICAL RATES for Cancer Patients w/ Diagnostic Needs: TOP 5 AFFORDABLE CT SCAN RATES for CHEST & UPPER ABDOMEN [both with CONTRAST]
And consider a very short flight to Manila to use one of those options. But thats just me, and it assumes you are well enough and have sufficient time to plan a trip to Manila (Cebu Pacific round trips are under 5,000 pesos and a lot less if you can book a special)

MRI do not produce any x-ray as they use very strong magnetic (the M in MRI) as well as radio frequency ( the r being resonance). If you don't have ferrous metal inside you then you'll be fine.
