CEBU CITY, Philippines – An American national shot himself on one of the benches along Sitio Tops, a local attraction in Cebu, early Friday morning.

39-year-old Lonie Dewayne, a former missionary from Colorado Springs, Colorado shot himself with a double barrel hand gun around 4 a.m. Friday.

An investigation into the matter showed that Dewayne went inside an establishment around 3 p.m. where he began to drink late into the night.

Police said his fiancee reported that Dewayne booked a funeral package at Rolling Hills in Cebu in the early part of June.

Before taking his own life, he hand wrote a message to his fiancee, “I love you to my royal charbear, so very much.”
