Be helpful, not hurtful
The heart and soul of Dumaguete Info are the helpful conversations that happen between neighbors. When conversations turn disagreeable, everyone on Dumaguete Info suffers. Our Guidelines prohibit posts and replies that discriminate against, attack, insult, shame, bully, or belittle others.

Don’t use Dumaguete Info as a soapbox
Dumaguete Info is a communication platform that allows neighbors to mobilize and get stuff done like never before. However, favorite causes that are pushed too hard, political campaigning, and personal views on controversial issues will inevitably rub one’s neighbors the wrong way. We rely on our members to report those who are over-posting, campaigning, and posting or ranting about controversial, non-local issues. (On Dumaguete Info, Dustin has set up a separate hidden forum "controversial subjects" for this)


Promote local businesses and commerce the right way
On Dumaguete Info, we support local businesses and encourage neighbors to share helpful information about their favorite businesses and services. We also encourage neighbors to buy, sell, and give things away. Dumaguete Info is actively working on solutions for local businesses to participate in their Dumaguete Info neighborhood.

Could have had everything to do with it. It is a good idea to have an Ambassador with a good relationship with the host country government. Even if the Ambassador in question is the best ever, if the new president doesn't like the color suit he wears or any other reason, even if totally stupid and unrelated to politics, it would be a good idea to replace him so a more calm diplomatic relationship can continue.
