    A whooping good reason to round up and destroy all loose dogs not claimed withing 48 hours. Also anyone not getting their dog(s) rabies shots should be heavily fined. Going house to house to check for dogs having rabies shots would be a good job for these dog catchers in their spare time which they must have plenty of.

    Both my wife and son were given anti-tetanus injections along with anti-rabies injections while they waited out the 4 weeks to see if the dogs died. Thankfully, the two dogs were not rabid so they didn't have to go through the painful series.
    Dumaguete provincial hospital has an animal byte treatment center as does the city medical center next to the main fire station but city hall.

    Sounds like he died from being beaten to death in the bag...not directly from rabies. I am an animal lover, but it does sound like the dog was a nuisance, and the best thing was to put the poor thing down.

    When a dog has bitten 18 people for no reason and a symptom of rabies is salivating there is a very good chance it will have rabies.
