Brian Oinks That's Mr. Pig to you Boy! :) Highly Rated Poster
Many times I have looked at the prices online and often notice that the price is 'amortized' I think it is called? Means often; you pay the seller their asking price, then you pay out the balance to the finance company or take over the financial responsibility for the remainder of the loan. MANY TIMES I have looked at an almost new vehicle advertised online here only to read in the comments below that the asking price has strings attached.
I know many friends back in Oz who have done this in the past and got stung once the seller lands on their feet, so takes back the vehicle once they can afford to start paying the payments again. If you do it PROPERLY then you NEED to refinance the vehicle to put it into your name.
Also I am wary to buy here, so many stories of illegal imports coming in as chops (suitable for parts only) that are put back together then sold, many times officials like Police Officers register the vehicle, but when it is sold and discovered that it does not match up with the LTO it is confiscated from you and you lose! Add to that the high incidence of flooding like many in Manila who then clean them up and offload them at too good to be true prices or send to other areas where flooding is less likely.
