Your eyes are pretty important, so my primary criteria would not be the cheapest cost. Best equipment and best doctor I can afford would be how I approach it. How much would you pay, if your were blind, to see?

That would be per eye.
When I had a lens implant I only needed it in one eye so that's what I had done.
Personally I would never do both eyes at the same time just in case there is a problem.-

I'd personally fly back home or go to Thailand or Hong Kong for anything that involved life, limb or eyesight. The Lasik surgery is very cheaper and probably safer (depending on where you get it done) in Thailand.

Now I know I wouldn't end up saving any money doing it in Thailand given the travel and hotel costs (at best I would break even)....but I'd certainly end up having more fun
. I would also feel a little safer having more experienced/competent and better trained doctors do the procedure.

My co-worker had Lasik in Manila. She mentioned that her right eye is fine but the left feels like there's always dust in it so she needs eye drops all the time. I'll ask her where and how much when I see her again on Tuesday.
