    Let us know how the boat trips go birdwatch, that sounds like an interesting alternative to the bus or car.

    Different people, different opnion. I will not be afraid to visit other islands by boat, guess you think about banca. If you want go Siquijor island, you rent a boat, cost 2000 peso for 4 person and bigger banca 3000 peso a day. Sure you can find a boatsman, who want sail you around. I sometimes go fishing on west coast of Negros, hire boatsman all day 2000 peso incl gasolin. I go Siguijor in my small banca, even been in Oslob on Cebu island and Panglao in Bohol. My boat is only 15 feets and of course I check weather cast first. I'm a poor guy. and my country don't want me back, even Abu sayyaf pay them, lol. I'm not ignorant about the danger, be sure you can trust your boatsman and boat is in good condition, life west on board, like that. Of course, bad things happen in this world, no one knows, what tomorrow brings. I want enjoy my life and will not feel any danger go around in banca. Many nice places, Sumilon island, north of Dumaguete, close to Cebu island, white beach, bounty land, same with many places around Siquijor. This time, I will not sail to mindanao, but around Negros, no problem. Pls. this is my opnion, and listen to other people to, before you take any decision, but it's nice be on the sea. You can visit coastguard on ferry pier in Dumaguete, they are friendly and will advise you

    No too sure that would be a good Idea just at this time, what with Pirates, the Terrorists, not to mention the Navy? coast Guard? on the lookout for small Boats in and out of Island landing points.
    I am sure there are such Boats and would suggest asking the larger resorts as they do go about the island
    Just my Thoughts. Sorry to be a little on the negative side But..............:nailbiting:

    Thank you. This is what we're looking for. The resorts websites only talk about specific touristy spots and I just couldn't find a friend or members of my family who share the same thought. It's always "we can go by car" or "ceres has aircon" until our trip in Bohol last week of March--less crowded while the young people are still in school which makes it our favorite time of the year to visit. I got the idea about boats from our tour guide. When the earthquake hit Bohol, she said that the roads weren't passable so small boats were of great use around the island.
    We were lucky we had returned when that thing about the rebels happened. Things can go wrong anytime anywhere in the world, it could be a sarin gas attack on the subway I use to go to work so I'm not bothered with that although it's good to take precautions whenever you can.
